Bubbles (Cross Post from Acrylics)

This is an acrylic painting of my young GrandSON. Don't be confused by the hair. I was at one end of the backyard and he was on the deck with the screen doors behind him and I took a photo from a distance so as not to interrupt his business. Low resolution reference but too good to pass up.

Re: Bubbles (Cross Post from Acrylics)

Good job. I would tone down the blue of the shirt and add more tones to the bubbles to make appear to have volume so they will not look flat.

Well done, Jon!
If you don't mind a comment- the shadows on the fingers is cool- and could be warm looking at the other shadows.

Re: Bubbles (Cross Post from Acrylics)

Thanks Mary.
Moises, thank you for commenting. The shirt is a bit more purple and quite dark....I may make some adjustments in that area. The bubbles, like the shirt seem to accent the blue. They have a lot more colour but I might also work on them as well.
Bethany, thanks for your comments. The cool shadows seem to be the shadows reflecting in the original. Quite small resolution, but I'll try and post.

So cute! I think the arms look a tad rubbery. The shape may be a little off or you could need some deeper shadows.
