I have decided to be brave and offer a gift certificates to a few friends.

Sorry, this is just a sample. not redeemable.

I'm seriously thinking of offering this to 3 friends. I prefer for friends and family to choose a painting from my stash, so I know they will like it, but one has been hinting she wants drawings of her children.... thoughts?

Looks like a good idea to me Mary. I like that you said satisfaction is not guaranteed, otherwise you might be finishing them up Christmas of 2025.

I just saw some of your work. Your paintings are really nice, I specially like the portraits. You'll do fine with the kids portrait.

And if you really don't want to do that, don't offer it in the first place and tell your friend you're uncomfortable with it

Oh, La...that gives me an out, right? I could just convince them the certificate was from one of their kids!

thanks!

This is so nice of you and your friends are so lucky. Will it be difficult for you to fulfill the order if the photograph is mediocre are hard to detect details?

I only gave the gift certificate to 3 friends, and all of them are better photographers than I am

You thought well in adding an expiration date.
Imagine if you give the same person several gift certificates without an expiration date...

You kindly offer them a great variety of great choices.
Just a thought... What will happen if your friend wants something else that is not covered in the gift certificate? Will they be willing to pay the difference? Why am I asking this? Isn't it customary when we receive a gift card, for ourselves to pay the difference when we purchase an item that costs more than the value of the gift card?

I'm glad I put an expiration date on this...None of them have commissioned anything yet.

That's depressing. You know, I have friends that love me, that ask about my art because they care about me and they want me to be happy, but they are just not into buying my art, or really any art for that matter. Many of my friends have pictures of their kids on their walls, or a print from a museum they visited on some travel, or a very well known artist print in an ikea frame, but that is it. Buying paintings is just not a priority at all for them, buying shoes or vacation deals or whatever is their priority and interest. Fair enough. Everyone spends their money differently, and everyone thinks their way is the most logical, but really there are a million ways to skin a cat. Maybe this is the case with your friends as well. If so, just love them back the way they are.
