Smile Lavender Field

Hi,

Here's the info about my Lavender Field painting.

During the golden hour a lavender field is lit up with fireflies.

The original painting is 60" x 40", 12000 x 8000 pixels.
To see close-ups of the painting please visit:

Thanks,
Phil

Utterly spectacular! I like so many things about it, but what most stands out to me is the tremendous detail in the plants in the field, and that delightful misty atmosphere in the distance.

This is really amazing! What medium is this? I can't imagine how long this must have taken. Such detail! The perspective and colors are just fabulous!

Hi LouMcK,

Thanks for the comments.

It's mixed media. Yes, it did take a while to paint. I worked on it in-between working on other projects.

Re: Lavender Field

I love your lavender rows. I once tried to do this in a painting. You have given me some ideas now. Thanks!!

Thanks cmejza!

When I'm working out a painting's composition I look at it really small - stamp size. At stamp size the foliage tends to get pretty organized. In the case of lavender fields the ones I was looking at come in rows, which makes the organization easier...:0)

Re: Lavender Field

Beautiful, I love the perspective of the sky and the fields not being in alignment. the sun being left of center I think makes the rows look so much more natural. Most artist would tend to put the sun in the center of picture.
