My Idea...
i was thinking it would be nice if, once a month, we could have someone post a picture of themselves here, and some of us braver souls could try to paint a portrait from it. just for the sake of getting numerous versions of essentially the same painting or subject. it would be cool to have a critique done by the very person you painted.
now i know, painting a portrait from a picture is one thing, and painting one from the net?? that's something else entirely... nobody is forcing you into this. just do it if you want... have fun. it's for learning and fun only, don't take it too seriously.
if nobody posts a pic in the next 2 days, i'll put one of me up there.
any takers? any brave soul feel like being painted instead of being the painter? once i saw this woman posting here, i think she was asian or hispanic... very pretty, i'd love to paint her! in case she was just my imagination, i'm not holding my breath.
let's have some fun with this...

Hi Richardnovak
Thanks for this suggestion. And thank you also to Ruth for volunteering.
Just an idea: have you thought about making each volunteered photo into a community project? This would generate wider interest from folks who enjoy the projects. For information on how to do this, look here:

Hmmmmm, I'm not familiar with the project system. I *think* what the icon must be is the small image you see at top left of all projects. If you browse through all projects they all have a small image. I don't think this is the reference image because the mouth project, for example, also has a reference image as well (see http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/P...sql?proj_id=76 )
What d'you reckon? I guess we could ask in the cafe or site discussions.

So, shall we make this into a community art project? Call it maybe 'portrait of ruth' for the first one? I'm willing to post this if you want.
