In memory of Luke

It is with great sadness that I add to this forum the passing of a dear friend and wonderful artist, Luke (saintlukesguild). I received an email from his family a few days ago that he died at home on March 1st.

He was often helpful, funny, quick-witted and sometimes downright contentious! But I always took his advice on art and life and he helped make me a better person.

Funny thing I found yesterday while looking for his obit, was a Facebook page created just this past January, with a self portrait that is truly him.

I've attached it here because he would have appreciated my doing so.

It is my hope that he will be remembered by his contributions here and the friendships he made along the way.

Godspeed Luke.

Condolences to the family. Stlukesguild was a terrific contributor to classical form. Sadly missed!

WHAT?!?!? I missed this until now. I was away from WC for a while. He was awesome! He always posted the best artists and painting examples during WC debates! I can't believe this! This is so sad.

Re: In memory of Luke

I'm sorry if this is awkward, but I'm confused. I've seen Luke posting quite a bit lately, even yesterday...??

Re: In memory of Luke

Yep that's true, two very different people.

Luke always was after David to change his name here, David and Luke would give each other a good poke and back and forth they would go about almost everything they could talk about and disagree about most of it, except maybe Rembrandt, who they both admire. There was always confusion. But they are indeed two very different people.

David is very much alive and posting.
