Garlic and Onions

I found this beautiful photo in the reference library, and decided to put it on a small canvas. 6x6" I'm done with the underpainting, which is always my BF's favorite step. He always wants me to leave them monochrome. ;P

Re: Garlic and Onions

Very nice,

please post the updates. I always wish that i could keep the monochome and duplicate it magically to start the colour... :-)

Happy painting!

Re: Garlic and Onions

OOzOO.. I have framed monochromatic paintings. I agree with your BF..
I used to paint my underpaintings with Raw Umber and white. I just think sometimes they come across as classical and rich.

Very nice painting..

Re: Garlic and Onions

I've done the first layers of color on everything except the garlic, but I have a cold and am ready to call it a day.

Thanks, guys! Couldn't sleep, so I finished it, except for maybe picking at it a bit tomorrow.

Re: Garlic and Onions

Oils are toxic

Otherwise I would eat your painting, they look so fresh and delicious!

Re: Garlic and Onions

Thanks, guys! Looks like I will be taking a brief forced hiatus after a cooking accident. I have second degree burns on my painting hand Shouldn't take more than a week to be ok, though.
