Just got back from Page AZ, Lake Powell trip

I was sitting on the back of the houseboat when I took this shot. We camped in this spot for 3 days and I couldn't get enough of the view.

These are not really sharp because they are sized to 900 not 800 wide.

Rainbow Bridge. I've been wanting to see this for years but you need a boat to get to it and it's a trip out to it.... but it was worth it!

Nice shots, Deb!
That looks like some beautiful and serene area.
Did you roast out there?

How lovely, I've always wanted to see the Rainbow Bridge. It must have been hard dragging yourself away!

Re: Just got back from Page AZ, Lake Powell trip

It was 100 during the day and 68 at night. With sprinkles during the night, but the areas around were getting thunder storms we watched lightning every night. So they have been getting rain and it doesn't take long for the weeds to green up again... crazy huh for August. In fact Sunday we got to the marina fairly early and unloaded and got on the road, I guess shortly after we left it poured in Page and high winds. If we had taken our time we would have been caught in that storm.

Beautiful images. I love the clarity of #1, the magnificent clouds in #2, the aerial perspective in #3, and the composition of #4.

Thanks Dave

It was such a fun trip. I took a bunch of gopro videos and they turned out awesome! This camera takes good pictures and is also okay to get it wet and put it under water... which I did. These pictures were taken with a Canon T3, I didn't want to take my expensive equipment on the trip with water and sand. The T3 did a great job!

These are magnificient.
Beautiful shots of a beautiful country and you represented it very well.
I can't imagine what it must have been like to be there.

I agree with Dave. Very good work. You ave a good eye.
Sorry to see the waterline so low too.

Question: Who in their right mind would go to AZ in the summer?

Answer: Only someone from So. California!

Kidding!

Before I retired I could only go on summer vacations as I was a teacher. I wanted to take a Cruise to the Caribbean but our friends wouldn't go as they said we were nuts. Finally got to go in the winter after I retired.

Re: Just got back from Page AZ, Lake Powell trip

Oh Rich you are sooo funny! Honestly the weather there isn't much different than where I live. It was hot loading the boat and unloading but once on the water and in the water it was wonderful and the water was warm which is a big plus to me. Though that walk to Rainbow Bridge was really hot!!!!

I'm glad you finally got to go on vacations at different times of the year, and the other plus side is it's not so busy huh.

Nice to hear from you

These are beautiful, sure would have been relaxing sitting amongst these lovely surroundings, minus the heat.

I would not have wanted to come home if it were me

Re: Just got back from Page AZ, Lake Powell trip

Looks like a wonderful trip. 100 during the day? Hmm, not so bad considering this summer had areas of Indiana and the heartland having temps hovering around 100 - 110 for weeks! Even in NYC we had a few days near a hundred.

But my favorite pics are the last two - I love how you created extra depth to make then almost 3 dimensional.

Re: Just got back from Page AZ, Lake Powell trip

There wasn't much humidity except for at night. Which makes it a little more tolerable.

Thanks you two for the nice comments. Yeah I didn't want to come home, already planning another trip for next summer.... what a blast!

Re: Just got back from Page AZ, Lake Powell trip

Beautiful photos. AZ is absolutely stunning.

To the commenter who questioned, "Who in their right mind would go to AZ in the summer?"...well, I did! I was in Phoenix and drove to the Canyon, Williams, Flagstaff, Tucson and Sedona. 112 and loved it! And that from a guy from the East Coast...

(but it was HOT!)
