This is one of five paintings I did this week in Ormond Beach at a paint out for The Group Of Eight. We are preparing for a group exhibition in 2004. It was perfect both days and so beautiful there.
Love,
Linda

What a fantastic idea! getting a group together and painting something for an exhibition!

You really need to be congratulated on this piece. I love your style!

Small Groups

Thanks to you both for the kind words.

I belong to two groups who do plein air painting and exhibitions. It is a wonderful way to market our work and share the responsibilities and glory. Museums are hungry for these kinds of shows.

Working together also increases visibility. At the Ormond paint out we ended up with a newspaper article and a photographer came both days to take our pictures.

One of my groups has eight members and the other has twelve.
I highly recommend working this way for landscape painters particularly. I would caution you to limit your membership. The smaller group I am in consists of fairly high profile regional painters. We have established reputations so by joining forces we will be able to draw in a good collector base and be appealing to museums for exhibition.

My other group is more mixed, but we are attempting the same goal.

Love,
Linda
