Roadside Farmhouse

Painted this one on the side of the road in Waterview, Kentucky this afternoon. My favorite moment was when I looked up at a passing car to see the passenger giving me the Bullwinkle hands to the ears and sticking their tongue out.

Here's a pic of the painting still on the easel on location. I'll get a better pic of it in the studio later.

Roadside Farmhouse
18" x 24", oil, plein air

Nicely focused on the farm and house. An appealing rural scene.

Thanks Gary. This area is full of appealing rural scenes. I just have to find the time to paint them all.

I am always amazed that you use the larger size canvas for plein air! I enjoy all of the paintings that you post. Jerry

Re: Roadside Farmhouse

Very nice - has the nostalgic feeling of going to Grandma's house for a holiday. Well done and also a feel good type of painting for the viewer.

Re: Roadside Farmhouse

Everything sure seems to be "spot on" in this very nice painting. Your skill is certainly showing! And I do agree with the greens, although greyed. they do feel like the real life greens of summer.

Thanks Jerry! I can paint the larger canvases just as fast as the small ones. This 18 x 24 took only an hour and fort minutes of painting time. Just have to use bigger brushes.
