Re: edge of a dream
I enjoy digital images most when I know they are digital, but they still have a painterly quality. This one has great ambiguous passages that could be interpreted by people in completely different ways - figures and shapes that are vague and fleeting. The title also works very well.

Michelle this is beautiful, and the title fits perfectly, it's the sort of thing that I would love to paint

Re: edge of a dream
Beautiful composition. I love the way the geometric patterns of light combine with flowing lines. The eye is directed in a full circle to every part of the image.

Re: edge of a dream
Thanks for all your thoughtful comments . I painted the background in ArtRage and made use of a brush in PSE8 for the foreground which I duplicated and bevelled. I then applied various effects on the entire image in PSE8 and animated it using Lunapic.

Re: edge of a dream
I really liked the colors and their combination, so live and bright... Also, I completely agree with you on its name it really took me to a dream.
It also reminded me of Phoenix, and fire... Great job

Re: edge of a dream
Hi Michelle, love the colors and comp. A very warm feel to it.
However, in the animated version there are a couple of vertical lines that don't move with the waves of water, and I felt my eyes focus there because of that - sort of a whats wrong with this picture kind of thing. Maybe this was intentional, but it seemed not.

Re: edge of a dream
Thanks Aidaebr, Chuck and Pixels.
I hadn't noticed the vertical still lines Chuck, but I have corrected the horizontal white flickering line in the center left which may have caused your eye to notice the vertical stillness. I cropped off the bottom a little more as there must have been some light colour on the outside edge from my bevelling. Looks much better to me now . I really have no control over the vertical stillness as I used the program Lunapic to animate and it doesn't allow for changing any parameters.
Stay inspired!
