Pelican

It's been a while since I have posted and even longer since I have done a pastel! Probably 10 years or more. I thought I would give it a try. I'm not happy with a lot of things, but hey, at least I finished I forgot how hard it was and thought I could just pick up where I left off. Sadly, not the case...

Re: Pelican

10 years!?
How could you hold out that long?
You did well for being out of practice.
The eye is perfect and the head is well done.
Look forward to seeing what you can do when you get caught up.

Re: Pelican

Lovely pastel Karen! You handled it very well and don't look like you've been away from painting for any time at all.

Re: Pelican

Five, a lot of life changing events in the last 10 years...
Thanks AMK, some things came back pretty quickly and others...well, not so much. I am doing another for a gift for my husband...we will see how it goes.

That's a lovely Pelican painting! Especially since you've been away from it for so long - well done!

Re: Pelican

This is lovely! Your colors are wonderful! I'd say you've still got the "knack" for it and doing more will only bring back your old skills that much quicker.

Re: Pelican

Beautiful work Karen, more so because you managed this work on the rough side of Canson! Well done
