Re: August, 2012, showcase

oooh lets get August started!!!!

I played with some of the Boro Tubes that Samma gave me and now I am depressed. I spent a tone of time trying to find a place to buy some more here and I cant. And I had such fun trying to make blown vessels and Shells!!!! I hope my father comes to visit soon so I can ask him to bring me some!

I hope you like it!!!! My first time at blowing glass and making vessels!

Marta, great job with the boro. I hope you can get your hands on some more.
Ellen, I agree with Les- looks like you had some fun with the silver.
Lesley, love the fused pendent- but then we do love flames-don't we

I'm hoping to play this weekend.

Great off the mandrel work Marta, I am hopeless at making pendant pieces like that, the shells look lovely.
Love the group Ellen, SIS on black always looks very smart.
Beautiful fused piece Leslie, the paterns look great did you do them with enamels.
Something different from me this month.

I was thinking along the lines of Ellen when I saw your beads, Jan. Ice and wonderful cool stuff like Anartica! Very refreshing, esp. for this time of the year!

Re: August, 2012, showcase

We don't often get nice cold winters here in TX either, Jan, but when we do, I treasure those times. I used to travel to N.Z. around the last 2wks of Sept. (South Island) when I was working Full Time. I've never traveled to Austrailia tho. I met some great people from Ozzie when I did a Scandinavia trip many years ago.

Re: August, 2012, showcase

Hi everyone.

First off

Marta beautiful. I really hope you are able to find some Boro.

Ellen great beads. Nice silver work.

Les what can I say? Who here doesn't like flames. Very nice

Jan gorgeous beads. Love the detail.

All right here is my latest offering. I have been working out in a tent doing demos for the studio I go to. Definitely adds a challenge. Here are a few of the pieces I have been doing.

Dragonfly Vase

Dragon cup

Fish. He still needs a bit of cold working but you get the general idea.

Beautiful work Carlos! It must be refreshing to work outside with all those beautiful trees around where you can see them. I'm sure you've helped a lot of people appreciate more the work that goes into making the beautiful glass pieces.
Happy creating,
ginger
