Long Overdue PPP project

Hi Everyone,

This was a project for the Plant Parade thread about three months ago I think and I just had to post it because I 'actually' just finished it..

Like the weeds in my garden this just took on a life of it's own, I drew the part of the Gate cause that was the thread project only mine came from a little very old cemetery up the road and I figured I could add my own flowers etc.. Those I put in with a brush over and over again..it's a tad busy and probably could use some tweaking but truth I'm rather tired of looking at it..

So now it's your turn Yes the one rod is crooked but it's suppose to be I swear. Anyway thank you for looking and please all and any C&C's are welcomed (just in case there is a next time..haha)

Arches board 16x20 painted area 16 1/2x13...Acrylics

Hugs,
Elaine

Beautiful Elaine. I am very captivated by this. I just wish there was a little bit more vine in front, not a lot, but a little more to help tie the behind the gate to the in front of the gate.

Gorgeous painting, Elaine. The old weathered iron work is brilliantly executed and the flowers and greenery are oustatdning.

I knew it would be beautiful! It is perfect, the rusty gate is really good and I think I can smell the scent lingering in the air!

Hey I remember as this was my PP and so glad you did a gate theme; the honeysuckle vine is gorgeous, too. Excellent Elaine!!!

Re: Long Overdue PPP project

A perfect painting. More beautiful than a photograph could be with an intriguing delicate design. Iron work is well wrought and the honeysuckle and berries are just enough. Well worth the time it took, but I know what you mean when you get tired of painting the same thing. Your patience is well rewarded.
