Flower Power Placemats

I have just uploaded some new information on my blog about creating
felted flowers and attaching them to some placemats. I had to really
shrink the photo down to be accepted so I hope you can all see it
clearly. Enjoy!!

Love the colors and the two fabrics work well together.

Ditto on what Jen said, would you please post what the outcome is after you launder them and how you went about it?

Re: Flower Power Placemats

Felted objects are very sturdy because they have been "distressed" repeatedly until they form into a solid fabric. If I know I'm going to launder something I make sure I felt really well and even follow up with some hand rubbing with warm soapy water so any surface fibers are secure forever. Then I launder lightly - not just thrown in with my other laundry. My felted paintings have been beaten to death before they were mounted and they look better and better when you do that. I hope this helps,
