Mixed Media Series Critique

Hi,

I was told that either the structured critique area or the media specific area would be best to post this in.

I've joined in hopes of getting some feedback on my work as a whole.

At the moment I am a little bit self doubting, I see other people who are showing their work in galleries and I think to myself "my work just doesn't belong along them."

In my head I see my work as just lacking 'something' and I'm really not sure what. Maybe it is too cartoony, or too clean?

I've attached a few larger works as well as my website just to get a feel for the kind of work I do.

I look forward to any feedback that you can give, Thanks!

I don't really see it as "lacking something", but as a rather strong example of a particular style. It has that flattish folk art perspective thing going on, which I personally find very very charming. But maybe that's not the look you were hoping for? I'm not sure why you're dissatisfied with it

I love the wood grain in them all. I've recently tried painting on wood and with me generally working on paper it's a challenge for me. You though...you've done it well!

I don't have any critique. I just want to say I really love everything about these. Please. IMO, don't change anything.

I personally really like your work. If you think it looks too cartoony, I would say that is due to you using a strong black outline to define objects...but I also like that look. Maybe blending the lines would give you a different feel. But again, I actaully like your style

Love this style, it is very unique! Is the woodgrain the actual wood of a panel? Very cool!
