100 or so paintings - Tommyjav
I was inspired by Cyntada's thread, and I have a small Moleskine that I will now dedicate to sketches of plants and other things in our beautiful garden. We have probably 300+ species of plants, so I think I can fill that Moleskine!
This first sketch is a flower of a plant that is related to ginger. Sorry, but I don't have the name of it.
W&N paints in Moleskine A6.

Re: 100 or so paintings - Tommyjav
Thank you Debra and Doug! I'm quite excited about this project, not always thinking about "big" paintings (even though I usually only paint A4 or Q/sheet), because then I will not have too much problem with the heat and the extremely fast drying. This afternoon I took a few photos in one of our gardens and I just want to paint these flowers and plants! However, my time for painting will probably be very much reduced during the next three weeks. I'm going to Johannesburg tomorrow morning to pick up two visitors from Sweden at the airport.

Good on you Tommy, this is a great start! Look forward to more of these.
Goody, another journal painter - we can keep an eye on each other. I find that daily painting - or almost - is becoming addictive and I think it is really helping my drawing, painting and observation skills.

Hooray, Tommy! Love your flower, can't wait to see more. With so many, you will give us an education on South African plants.
I agree, frequent sketching is definitely addicting

Hooray, Tommy. Great flower. We are all excited about these projects. What a wonderful way to learn a new feature of watercolor. I think a lot of us are going to join you. I've done my first.

This is the second sketch in my new Garden Journal. We have at least six different species of Hibiscus, and this is one of them.
W&N, M.Graham paints. Moleskine A6.
C&C most welcome!
