Mona Lisa’s new enigma :)

We have built a new conservatory and I got a small wall to paint on. My husband found an idea in Internet. I must admit I didn't like it very much, but decided to have a go as a practice. I can always repaint it when I am tired to look at it .

The size is 180x120 cm. I mainly used acrylics, except for the hands, which I painted with oils.
I also added a few pictures of the process. May be somebody will be interested.

VERY clever!! I love it! Thank you so much for posting the process... at first I wasn't sure what you were doing, but I have to say I'm impressed with the whole process. What is the substrate? I know you said a "window", but is this an insert of some kind? It looks very smooth...

I can't imagine you getting tired of this view Thank you again for posting!

Michele

Re: Mona Lisa’s new enigma :)

Thank you Michele!. It is on a plasterboard. For some reason I can't upload a file at the moment. I'll show later how it looks like in the conservatory.

Re: Mona Lisa’s new enigma :)

Great rendering, very nice hands

One question - the face looks darker than the chest and hands (I mean the highlights aren't as light as these areas) and I think this makes the face look a bit flatter than it could be. Will there be more contrast on the forehead/eyes/nose, or this is the final rendering?

It makes the skin seem less continuous, if all the highlights in the image are stronger than the ones outside.
