Pretty alien sunset! I love how you do those sweeping strokes in the foreground ground.

Thank You

Blueyog & Axl_Happy_Goth,

I'm trying to stay away from the typical or traditional color schemes for landscapes. It seems that I was pretty lucky with this one. I also try not to use more than 5 or 6 colors to keep it
uniform.

Plumfairy,

The sweeping strokes are pretty much done through out the whole painting, even in the clouds. After painting each section, I pull a brush, lightly over it in both directions to get a smooth blend. I got lucky with that too.

Thanks to all of you for noticing.

Very smooth blending of the colours, and the colour scheme works well - lovely contrast on the horizon. Great job!

(Btw, where've the Marsians gone? There seems to be no sign of them ... is it dinnertime at sunset? )

hlee,

Thanks for the encouragement.

You asked about the Marsains. Funny thing, may sound weird, but at my present state of artist preference....I don't like figures or anything man or alien made (fences, barns, buildings, etc.) in my paintings. I like to express cosmic evolution without the influence of man. Eventhough man is apart of that evolution. It's wierd, ....I will see a really cool landscape in a gallery, and be erked by the barn, deer, or house.

I know that most artist believe that a figure, a road, or a fence, can lead the eye and tell more of a story. I think (at this time in my artistic development) that a painting without these influences has more of a mystery. It leaves an endless road of imagination to run freely.

My painting could be Mars, or a place in one of Dr. Zues' worlds, or just a nutty concept.

Thanks for letting my express.

The colors and whispy clouds are very soothing. You have even brought that feel down onto the ground, and that reminds me of a misty morning where everything seems fragile and surreal. Nicely done
