Hi Marc,
Nope, not swearing. It's the name of the flower. It's a southern California native wildflower.

Re: Photographs of Spring flowers

Marc hi, wonderful photo's thanks for posting them.
Up here in Canada we call that red flower an Orchid Cactus. I have one just like it that hangs on my deck during the summer, I've nurtured it for years from just a 2 inch piece of the long stem. Easy to start., but took a few years before it flowered. I luv them, such an explosion of color from those long strappy leaves.

Hello Sharm,
Thanks for the name of the red flower, Cactus are weird, do nothing all year but stab you and then rewards you with a beautiful flower for a short time. Found another kind thats fifty years old, attached pics.

Another prickly plant.

Garden in Spring.

Red face Re: Photographs of Spring flowers

Thank you for sharing your amazing photos and allowing us to use them in our paintings. I am awed by this wet canvas site, full of treasures and wonderful artists, I admit I feel a bit intimidated, But everyone seems so friendly and generous with advice that I will try to participate more often. I have also collected photos of flowers but I have to learn how to upload them

Re: Photographs of Spring flowers

Your photos are works of art Mac - these are fantastic additions to your album in RIL - and it'll be good to see these there when the uploader is fixed.
I'll link these to our photo resource in the forum though, so they're easily found - there's a wealth of subject material for the next few projects here!

Thanks so much for posting them.

You also have a beautiful garden!

Re: Photographs of Spring flowers

Hello Maureen, Pat and Blue+purple,
Long time no chat Maureen, thanks for the comments, I wait patiently for the RIL to open again. The town is my garden, I push bike around and take pics, most of the owners don,t mind.
Only the tall purple and white prickly things are in my shared garden.

Pat are you refering to the cactus bloom? Soon I am going to take a pic in the early morning, I've been told thats when the flower is completly open, it shuts down in the heat when I usually go by.

Blueandpurple, thanks for the feedback, hopefully we'll see some of your pics soon when you sort out the attachments thingy.

Regards,
macd.

Hello Pat,
Attaching pics of cactus taken this morning before they closed down for the day. I hope you like them as open flowers as well.
