Re: Blue Dog

Lauren, great piece, great approach aka the 15 minute plan, 15 execute.

That dark value ear up front with the other one fading away into the background works well. And I like how you have reversed the wash from the crayon -- going into the background and retaining the white of the fur in one place -- and then using the wash to fill in the fur down on the right lower side. Cool. Be it instinct or intent, it gives a great dimension. You talented soul, you!

Re: Blue Dog

Love the blues and greens Lauren with a nice touch of red!
This would be a good starting point for a series. Can't wait to see the next one. Are you planning on doing a watercolor for the finale? Or pencil/crayon?
or....mixed?

Re: Blue Dog

Hi Bill...thanks

Jen! you make me blush! thanks

liz and joan...thanks...I highly recommend the 30 minute exercize...no dilly dallying!

marcia...thanks! I'm not sure what you are asking.. .. I am working on a series of aerial view paintings...but I get antsy working on the same subject over and over...I vowed to do a series of 50 aerial views...(and I'm on #8...so I have a way to go! ) I do these quick "warm-up" paintings for fun and to keep things interesting....believe me...they aren't always post-able!

Re: Blue Dog

Aw, I love this! What a great plan, too...even I could manage to find 30 minutes *somewhere*! (Especially split in two!)

Re: Blue Dog

Hi Carey...thanks...the 10 or 15 minute time divisions really work for me...gets me out of thinking that I need big blocks of time to paint....(push push)
