This was done in preparation for a workshop.

Re: "Gathering Firewood"

Thanks for sharing, Marge. I like the touches of warmth in the otherwise cold scene.

Re: "Gathering Firewood"

I wish the picture was a little closer so we can get some more detail. - but from way back here I looks good!

Re: "Gathering Firewood"

Thank you Linda, Michelle and Kathy.

I attended a Yarnell workshop where this basic scene... though somewhat different.. was the subject. Learned a lot! But this was taken from looking at a downloaded photo of a previous work the artist had done. It was my first time to paint snow. I did better at the workshop and think this practice piece helped me a lot.

Kathy, sorry about the photo, but I'm not very good at taking the photos of paintings. I'm learning, but soooo much to learn! Think I'll try to crop it so that it looks closer. All this digital gobbledy-gook is a lot for an ole gal like me to keep up with!

Re: "Gathering Firewood"

Good job cropping! LOL

I really like it - the closer view shows some of those nice details.

(I'm awful at snow!)

Re: "Gathering Firewood"

lovely work Marge - that snow looks real cold and it contrasts well with the warmth of the hunter and tent

nb - if you post another version of the same painting give it a different name or else the server will change the previous photo as here - I had the same unexplained thing happen!!!!

Re: "Gathering Firewood"

Oh, thank you for that information, Ruth! Should I post the painting I did at the actual workshop here or start a new thread? Marge
