Playa de blanca y Aqua Krystal!!

Painted with a "thinking brush" and a little slower than my usual.
Done on 22 x 30 full size Arches cold press.

Pretty clean...used friscket for the water whites.
Let me know your thoughts...
love constructive progress and criticism.

Thanx...therese

Very well done! You have captured that "sun-drenched" look. The trees are great! I especially like the color of the water. Very nice composition. Welcome to WetCanvas!

<b> A thinking brush is one that doesn't move too fast...one with movement that is thought out...prior to hitting the paper.
Learned that term from a famous artist that I took watercolor workshop from..
thanx for the critique and welcoming me too!

Welcome Therese!

What can I say? This is fantastic, wonderful movement and lovely colours. I want to be on that beach now, sitting under those palm trees, sipping a cocktail......... Snap out of it! Water is lovely too.

Minor nit picks, the island in the background could be more washed out to give depth. Also the sky should be darker towards the top and lighter at the horizon.

Keep posting!

Ruth

Welcome to the watercolor forum!!!

I like this very much especially the trees, they must have taken forever to paint.

Therese, welcome! This is absolutely stunning, and to think it's a full-size sheet. I love the colors...of the sand, the palm leaves, the water's edge, the deep blue sky. The whole mood is there - the movement of the lapping wavelets, the the warmth of the day. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

thank you for your kind words...
You are sooo right about the sky being darker up top and then a slow gradual change and lighter on the horizon line..
Thanx so much Therese

<b> The trees to tell the truth were not that time consuming..
Used a fantastic "fan" brush...
works nice for palms.
Thanx again, Therese'

Welcome. Love your bright loose colors. It is hard to make the brush think when the person holding it isn't.
