Going For Water
This print is an attempt to capture the appearance of Puebloan life in prehistoric times. A woman is beginning her daily rounds by taking some pots to the river to get water. All objects in the scene were hand created in 3D. I used a clone brush looking at photos of actual pueblos in New Mexico to paint the texture on the pueblo since I despaired of ever getting a texture to lay on the object through more digital means. The only photo part is the sunrise sky which was actually a sunset photo taken in my backyard. The only direct painting part using my mouse was the woman's dress plus a little editing here and there and inserting the smoke coming from the opennings. This project took me about 3 months to complete due to my having to come to grips with the mismatch between my skill with the applications being used and the image I had in my head.
Comments and suggestions welcome.
