The Machinist

This was posted in the critique section and in the postcard trade thread, but because I am new to non-representational work,I thought I would risk getting yelled at and cross post. I want the all artists that work in this style to see and comment.

I am a representational painter. I make a good portion of my living from my work, but I have never been happy with anything I have tried like this.

So.What do you think...

Re: The Machinist

I think it's a great start! Love the composition and textures

Re: The Machinist

i think the strength is in its simplicity and its texture

but the simplicity doesnt hold long as a strength to me. afther 1 min i get the feeling ive seen it and understand it.
but it still remains a good painting

nice work

Re: The Machinist

I love the textural rough look and the way that light area shimmers so nicely. Nice work!

Re: The Machinist

I like this work very much. Good composition, light and colours and the structure of material behind the colours. Great work, what remeinds me a bit the strength of Bauhaus studies.

Re: The Machinist

Well, your work certainly fits in this forum... In fact, looking at your website, almost all your work fits nicely here. Very strong abstracted work...

I can't add much more here. This has the bones of a good piece of abstract: composition, color harmony/balance plus a pleasing texture ...

Just a question... What size and medium?

Diane
