Re: Category manager thread on the AA board
I habe been banned from posting on the boards not from selling on ebay.
They still like my money no problem.
I sell in two B&M galleries, but my ebay sales still account fdor most of my income.
Maybe being away from the boards ( and the groups) will give me more time to paint.
Bad things can turn into good ones sometimes....

I am assuming that your ban from groups is temporary.
Is it?
Of course they like your money and every other seller's money.
Money's the sole reason for their existence.
But customer service is very important.
We artists are their customers.
As I've said before, they are too high on themselves and may be short sighted.
Competition for ebay will occur at one time or another.
Hopefully sooner than later.
I am so disgusted with ebay.

Re: Category manager thread on the AA board
No, I know you meant the boards there, not Selling.
Your income is majorly from eBAy sales then, ah. I know you said your prices are lower now but hopefully you'll continue to do fine.
Yes, I'd not worry Rita. Just continue painting. Best thing I've learned is worry about yourself and do what you enjoy and not let others or things like the eBay site problems bother you too much.
Take care; Jocelyn

Re: Category manager thread on the AA board
Nina: I have been banned "indefinitely" from the ebay boards and groups.
I am still the leader of EMOEA. I wanted to resign but the EMOEA committe members apparently want me to stay on. I am in touch with all of them by email.
EMOEA will go on undisturbed by all this.
There are other boards on the net...a lot of them.

Rita, I am sorry to hear about the ban. I have always enjoyed your posts.
I would just like to comment on Skype. I don't know how things will go with that, but I do use it and am enjoying it very much. I love that my family, friends, and clients who have it can contact me if I am online and we can converse for free.

Rita, I'm really sorry to hear about the ban. That is terrible.
They ought to be ashamed of themselves for asking for feedback and not being prepared to actually listen to it.
Shame, shame, shame.

Re: Category manager thread on the AA board
Hi Rita,
sorry to see you got the boot too - they really are just phishing for compliments when they post those art category manager updates...it seems they aren't being very successful with it, are they?

they kicked us out as well, when peter had posted some details from the job description of a category manager - there is actually nothing in there that would suggest that the candidate would need to know anything about the subject matter they will be managing. interesting little tidbit of knowledge.
for ebay, the art category has nothing to do with art - only with revenue, sales numbers and shareholder manipulation.
sad, that they've forgotten about the people behind their numbers they so proudly wave in everyone's face...

Re: Category manager thread on the AA board
lol omg! You all were banned?
Yet they allowed a poster whose been wreaking havoc on that and many other boards for over 5 yrs to remain, getting 3 week to 3 month bans off and on.
Then, someone like Rita, who has intelligent suggestions and is an asset to the community, gets banned from participating. Sheesh.
Like they listen to constructive and knowledgeable suggestions anyway :-(

Re: Category manager thread on the AA board
Just caught up. Rita, I cannot BELIEVE that they had the audacity to ban you from posting over there! (well, I do believe it.. ebay is... ebay, nuff said) I guess you scare them. You always speak the truth and you have no fear of doing so. I always admire your posts so much.
More painting time does sound good!

Re: Category manager thread on the AA board
"I have been banned from posting on that board and from all ebay groups."
THATS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.
I hope the whole thing implodes and goes down the pan I really do. WHO do these people think they ARE?????
The sooner google gets it's act together with an auction the better for all of us. Have you tried posting a press release to PR web? I'm SURE that being banned from posting on the boards (but theyre happy to take your cash) would generate some REAL interest.
Oh ... god ... words absolutely FAIL me.

Re: Category manager thread on the AA board
Rita, can't you register another user name and use a posting ID?
Mind you ... you probably don't want to now.
God ... I can't believe that theyre censoring free speech like this!!!! Does anyone know any reporters?

Re: Category manager thread on the AA board
I only read through page 1 of the link given by arteitaliana in the initial post to this thread...I never saw another comment from Jennifer? only a warning from eBay?
That stinks! When someone asks for imput and they get it why should the they be penalized? Sounds to me like an immature person got scared of all the big bad artists and ran to mommy.
Maybe someone with more experience in dealing with the public in a customer service capacity should be handling the situation!
If all the artists who know what they are talking about get their posts removed how will anything be fixed? Were they fishing for compliments?

Re: Category manager thread on the AA board
I think the basic problem is that they feel compelled, every so often, to ask customers what they want, but can't deliver what individual artists want.
I think Meg Whitman said in an interview that ebay is a numbers game. They're not concerned with individuals.
And the problem for us is that, even while things are at their worst, it's still the best place to make sales (not saying much, I know).

Re: Category manager thread on the AA board
Don't risk registering under another ID and posting. It is not worth anyone's livlihood. That will and has gotten people Naru'd. Even discussing banned members will get us in trouble on there eventually. That is another post subject they tend to pull down. Also, swearing. Don't use any cuss words, not even miss spelled ones. Those words include "carp" as well.
