1st Time Posters! Read Guidelines Before Posting.
Welcome!
The true purpose of the Open Critique forum is for members, new and old, to present their own painted work using traditional materials (on canvas, board or paper) and get constructive, helpful feedback on that work. When posting your work, please be sure to fill out the form completely and make note of the size of your work (24x30 for example). Photography is not accepted in this Critique forum and may be posted within the Photography forum.
Due to the unusually high volume of posters, we ask forum members to limit their posting of new work for critique to ONE per 24 hour period so that everyone's work will get equal time & there won't be forum flooding. Please post only your own work to this forum. And, please do not post your work in another member's thread. Start your own thread if you want a critique on your work. Posting your work in another member's thread is known as "hijacking" and is considered impolite.
Please think about your comments carefully prior to posting and please try to be analytical in your critique. A critique should generally focus on:
* How can this piece be improved upon?
* What could others learn from the piece?
* What was done well?
* What needs more work?
* Could even more be done?
* What could be done about it?
So, take a moment before hitting that "submit" button and reflect on what the submitting artist and others will learn from your post.
Additionally, anything that is not artwork or pertaining to the art posted will be deleted and will be considered off-topic.
Works in Progress (WIPs) are welcome and may be posted in the WIP thread at the top of the page. Only finished works may be submitted to Open Critique.
The Open Critique Forum is not the place to post poetry, music lyrics, personal messages or excessive chatting. We urge members interested in chatting to please post in the Café Guerbois to preserve the critique forum as a place where members can get feedback on their work.
We ALL want to thank the folks who comment on our work, however, we respectfully ask that 'thank yous' not be made on each and every comment but, rather comprised after several comments have been made. In this way, we'll all be able to view the work of others before they disappear into the cybersphere.
Please also remember that signature line graphics must not exceed 468x60 pixels and may only point to or refer to your own art site.
Thanks very much!
