Keyhaven saltings

Brr it's cold here on the south coast, north winds blowing, but the sun is shining and it's too good to waste.

I was all set up to do a WDE... but first I had to go down and paint the wading birds along the saltings.

First a quick watercolour to catch the birds and the tideline, then the oil, 8 x 6 ins on my little pochade. About an hour and a half for that. It was getting a bit chilly to stay still by then.
I don't know how you really cold weather folks do it!
C & C Welcome
Marita

I like it, its much nicer than the photo. You did the birds and boat really well. Lori

too bad its at a thumbnail size, Marita...as the larger upload is so much better, and worth time to check it out.

Has a unique look for a watercolor....nearly looks like an acrylic, more opaque and thick...
