Nana
Hope it's O.K. to post this here, only I have also posted this along with another portrait in the Watercolour Forum. I'm trying to change my usual way of painting, and trying very hard to loosen up after years of tight finickey detailed work. I'm after a fast almost slap-dash technique which doesn't take the soul out of the subject matter. I think I have been able to get a little closer to what I'm looking for in this example, but I'd like to know what you think. This was a quick painting done from the imagination (I prefer to paint from the imagination if possible). I used gouache in the same way that I use watercolour and it's on Fabriano paper. Any help or comments would be very greatly appreciated.
