Re: December Oil Pastel Challenge and Chat

Hi Terri, cool portrait! He looks like a rock musician to me he resembles a guy I know, an Italian with waist-long hair, who used to play in a rock band

I like the palette and the vignetting! Well done!

I've also finished my work started in December. Here it is, on 12x16 in Arches Oil Paper:

Not too happy with how it turned out. I often feel I lack understanding of what I'm doing when painting in terms of technique and color usage. I plan to devote upcoming months to casual bold sketches (which I won't post ) just to develop my skills and become more confident in how I paint with OPs.

Thanks for the comments, Mira! Those portraits were fun to do.

I think your painting turned out nicely! The stockings look great, and I really love the fringe from the blanket.

We need to start our 2020 Sketch thread!
