Scavenger Hunt #551: July 28 - Aug 5
Welcome to Scavenger Hunt #551! WP might not be around so I'm jumping in to host. This is a list from a hunt I hosted back in 2007:
The list for Scavenger Hunt #551: July 28 - Aug 5
- A newspaper stand or box or rack (bonus: draw two different kinds)
- A waiting room
- Something taller than you
- Something you pass nearly everyday
- A grocery cart or basket
- Piece of heavy machinery or construction equipment
- Someone reading
- Something crunchy
- Something that is one colour on the outside and a different colour on the inside
- A bus stop or shelter
- A set of lockers (at the community centre? The bus depot?)
- Something that smells delicious
- Something you always take on vacation but never use
- Something in your car that you haul everywhere with you but you never use (dig through that compartment or trunk!)
- Vending machine (bonus: draw two different kinds)
- Hanging plant
- The cover of a flyer, takeout menu, or church bulletin
- Fireplace
- Open your electrical box and sketch the inside
- A recyling bin
- Fire extinguisher
- Payphone
- Fire alarm bell
- Shoe with laces
- Sunglasses (or reading glasses) with case or neck cord
- Sewer grate or culvert or manhole cover
Challenges:
1. Insert a foot/shoe into three of the drawings.
2. Try at least two sketches with colour: "Summer" colours if you're in the northern hemisphere; "Winter" colours if you're in the southern hemisphere; and vibrant colours if you're near the equator.
3. If you wear glasses, take them off and then sketch an item - sketch what you see not what you know it is.
Have fun! Cheers!

Thanks for the new list, Eyepaint, and what a great opener (<- because the footwear is, like, on two pages?) Haha. My apologies. That was weak.

...nice list, and super opening sketch of the shoe...
1. Something crunchy...this is one of sweet Ruby dogs toys, t'is a dragon, rather a cute one. Don't know what it's stuffed with, but it makes a lot of crackly crunchy noises as she chews on it, and she loves it. A5 pen n watercolour, bit less than the hour...

EP, great opener. Like those shoes.
Scatty, awwww, such a cutie of a dragon.
Robin, your people are so full of life. Great gestures. They make me smile.
I sketched in the big 'ol book with a Prismacolor 01. It took way too long, I see that I quit shadowing the rocks as I gave up. I had planned a basket and fireplace tools but after an hour I decided, no!
Number 1, flyer or bulletin - flyer from a potter and a map of the enchanted circle
Number 2, fireplace

Ai, the lipstick sure catches the eye. Nicely done with a mouse.

#2 waiting area -- outdoor waiting area with stone tables under tree canopy... a big father at near and 3 high school kids at far. They finished their class earlier than Iris (grade7) and they were snacking .
