Flowers and Glass Vases

I love glass objects and enjoy trying to paint them in watercolors. I found this reference and decided to give it a go.

Reference: photo from Paint My Photo.com used with permission
Paper: Canson l'Aquarelle Heritage, 140 lb rough
Size: @ 9" x 12"
Paints: all artist grade.

Comments and critiques invited as always.

Sylvia

I have not been brave enough to tackle glass yet. I want to.

Love this!

I like this a lot Sylvia -- your glass is great. Do you like painting on "rough"? I've never tried it.

Very nice...the water in the vase is particularly effective.

Re: Flowers and Glass Vases

Thank you for your nice thoughts about my painting Susan, Frank, John, Lil, Kate, Bill, and Karl.

Susan, Give glass a go. You just paint the shapes you see through the glass, when you finish doing that, you will see the glass shape itself.

Kate, I was given a block of the new Canson Heritage paper to try. It is my first time using rough and this paper, I find I am liking both the more I paint on them.

Thanks again for the kind words.

Sylvia

Well done Sylvia. The glass vases look very convincing and ‘sit’ very nicely on that dark surface. I like the little reflection on the table - nice touch.
