untitled in progress......
Hello all - Finally had time to do some work of my own, here it is .......
I would like to say that this is half finished - but I can't guarantee that! This is prismacolor pencil on an Ochre matboard. I want to let the texture of the board work for me on this one - trying to work a bit looser too. Size is 91/2" x 21" Sorry the scan cut off a bit at the bottom, which will have dappled sunlight eventually! Whew. Comments are appreciated!
Thanks,
TJ

TJ, you are amazing. This is gonna be great (great already). I tried matboard and couldn't get to first base with it. Local framer gave me a bunch. (?)
Is my favorite mule here??? The tree is wonderful BTW.

Ivy - LOL your nuts ya know!
Wendee - thanks so much!!
Lulu - I'm hoping this is half done well, at least when its all done we'll know for sure. LOL!
Stalks - thanks, this is the first CP that I have done like this. Its something new - so I hope I don't mess it up!
hey sherbie!! Lol, I find your fish facinating too!! Thanks.
Shirl I've used matboard before - but it really depends on the texture of the surface. They can vary so much. This one is a bit more textured than I usually like, but it's working well for the bark on this alligator juniper tree. This tree has given me fits. I think I have gone cross eyed! We actually found this tree while we were out riding, and took refuse under it during a short hail storm. Later we stopped for lunch at another place and I've combined the two. I wonder how old it really was? The size around the base was just amazing!
Your favorite mule? If you mean the Arab mule I did before? Maggie has gone back to Wyoming to round up cattle with her owner. This is Stacy, Daisy, and Queen. And can I say what good girls they are to!!
Thanks for looking guys!

Oh wow, I love the serenity... I have to keep myself from going off in a day dream when I look at this... Makes me think of when I used to go to a lovely dam nearby with a huge tree that throws a lot of shade, in the summertime... until they built houses

Hey sherville -Thanks, I never thought of it like that but................
your post took me back in time too....... back to the days when I was maybe 6 or 7 ....... gosh i remember laying in the field next to my house with my sister, staring into the sky...... and fighting about what shapes we thought the bright white fluffy clouds floating by in that beautiful blue sky were! LOL Of course I was always right! I hadn't thought of that in years......
cchapla1 - Thanks, I've been using colored pencils for about 12 years now. I hope I've learned something in all that time! Sometimes I'm not sure though! LOL! I'll do a color pencil piece - then do grahite and back and forth and back and forth............... hehehe, it never ends!
