Scavenger Hunt # 445 - March 28 - April 5

Welcome to the hunt.

If you've participated in at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one we would really appreciate it. You can sign up by posting your name on the current hosting schedule in the Art From Life forum here:
http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/show...366347&page=48

Here are the rules for the hunt:

*All items on the list must be sketched from life - not imagination or photo reference.

*Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list, no matter how many shapes/parts/colors that object contains. This was agreed on by unanimous vote among the participants.

*You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count these objects as separate items, but no single object can count for more than one item.

*All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you post will be #1 regardless of its place on the list. Do them in whatever order you wish, but count them in the order in which you sketch them, from 1 to 26.

Do as many or as few of the items as you like. You don't have to finish the entire list to participate. The Scavenger Hunt "week" will last for 9 days, with the next hunt starting on the 9th day.

Please tell us your size, surface, medium, and the amount of time it took you for each sketch. We love hearing about your subjects and setups. Photos of your subjects are welcome.

*** If you have some hunt sketches completed but little time to read/comment, please post your sketches anyways. Commenting is appreciated but not necessary. ***

Re: Scavenger Hunt # 445 - March 28 - April 5

Hi everyone. I haven't participated lately but still hovering in the background making sure you are all still at it.

6 years ago today my husband passed away. Finally cleaning out his huge amount of stuff in the garage. Would you believe he even kept things that were broken? Maybe for parts? His brother-in-law and his friend have been helping me. Stuff in there I have no clue what it's for.. Also started to purge stuff from the house. We were both pack-rats and that is not a good thing. One pack rat per household should be the limit. we have lived here for maybe 30 years and a lot of stuff accumulates in 30 years.

Jeanne, so good to see you here. Complicated time for you. Wishing you the best and hope you get time to sketch with us soon.

I sketched in the big book today with a Micron 03, about the middle 2/3 of the page. Ha.

Number 1, seed pod - pine cones
Number 2, game piece - dice from L C R. (Left, Center, Right)
Number 3, game board - none here so subbing a deck of cards

Ah difficult time for you Jeanne, but it will be so good when it is all done and sorted! I guess there are some advantages to frequent moves - there is plenty of opportunity to trim things down. I also think that is about the only advantage

Glad to have the huddle together Robin! we get to 'play' together again

Nifty goodies you sketched there Jo! Great job on those pesky pine cones! Now I need to find out about 'Left Right & Center'

Jeanne: Good for you ....Let it go...Let it go... We are actually do similar thing here too... for anti-allergy and try to be more minimalist (may be just a little better) ...

Jo: Great sketches, esp. the lower group !!!

Well we took our kids to a nice downtown mall in the afternoon today... but I forgot my sketchbook and I did not want to buy a new book... so you guys just have to put up with some old stuffs from my home... ha ha ha

Joan - Nice work on the patterns!

Jeanne - Cleaning out is tough. It takes commitment. Miss you and your amazing compositions.

Jo - love the pen work on the pine cones.

Ai, Robin, Charne -

#1 Tessellating - This was a great learning experience. It may not look it but this was about 2 hours in the making. I did learn the trick for making perfect straight lines and almost learned to do perspective in Procreate. It is the tile floor in the family room.

#2 Table leg - Done in Procreate with HB pencil brush.

#3 & #4 Game Piece and Section of Game board - This was a very quick sketch using a bunch of brushes in Procreate. I probably should have taken time with text but I was just not in mood.

Keep Sketching
Joe

Hang around Joe. When I host in a couple of weeks, I am going to recycle the hunt by Jamie where all 26 items will fit in one still life. I have rerun it a couple times. I love the list and love doing the huge still life ones. If anyone wants a look at the original one, see Hunt #26.

Super job on those floor tiles Joe! You are really getting the knack of this digi drawing!

Oh dear Jeanne...maybe we should start collecting things for the still life

I finally got a quickie done yesterday. Life has had some interesting twists the last couple weeks. All good, just different

01 Twig, this is the waxflower that I 'love' so pretty and the flowers smell so good!(I guess vine would be a better word for it though) I used a bic pen to draw, and a waterbrush with the watercolours. Just needed to confirm that I do not like a waterbrush for this....
