WDE Oct 3-Impressionistic

Thanks for the great pics, Maureen!

I decided to try the water lilies. Since I seldom do florals, thought I should do it in a style and technique which are strangers to me also......impressionism and the fracturing technique. The fracturing technique is the style belonging to Julie Ford Oliver.
I'm not overjoyed at my result. But, hey...it's all about learning.

This is oil on 5x7 canvas panel. Tons of texture.

I have heard of fracturing before but not sure I understand it. Lovely painting though!

It is all about learning!!! I think you were successful in a technique similar to Julie Ford Oliver's !! I like the way you captured the light on the flower petals!!
