WDE July 1-Inviting Spot

Thanks for the great variety of refs, Kay...and thanks for the challenge!

I painted something I haven't done very often...the sidewalk scene. Nary a dog, lion, or cow to be seen ! I enjoyed it once I was into it.

This is oil on a 7x5 canvas panel. I used a lot of painting knife plus heavily loaded brush work to give this piece an impasto texture.

C&C welcome. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

Done in under 2 hrs.

Not even a chicken???? I like the crop, it leads one to want to peek around the corner and see what else is there. Strong, sure colors and texts as always Deano.

Nice work Dean. I like the texture of the rocks you were able to caputure. Nice light there too that contrasts well with the shadow behind the flowers.

That stone wall is amazing. It looks so solid and totally convincing and the blue windowsill against the orange stone is perfect. Love it, but then I have yet to see something of yours that I didn't like.

This proves you don't need animals to make a great painting!

Quite and absolutely super!
Feeling the heat bouncing off that so-well-painted wall - I really like this one!
