Andrew Wyeth

Most of this is pencil and watercolor or tempura, I believe.

Re: Andrew Wyeth

I admire the everyday nature of his paintings - he turns the ordinary into art. Nice sycamores, too.

Re: Andrew Wyeth

Love his plein air setup! Just goes to show that you don't need a lot of fancy equipment to paint a masterpiece! I believe most of his work is transparent and opaque gouache. Thanks for giving some time over to a watercolorist! And I can't figure out HOW he painted those nets either...

Re: Andrew Wyeth

What I like of Wyeth's works is that his lightest light is pure white and his darkest dark is pure back. He was a great artist!

Re: Andrew Wyeth

We've all read opinions by nose-in-the-air so-called critics saying Andrew Wyeth's work isn't to be taken seriously. How blind must they be. None of the images here is new to me but I can still ponder them at length. I was privileged to visit his exhibit in Florida some years back and had to eventually find a quiet place to sit and let the water run out of my eyes. Thank you for posting. Dan

Re: Andrew Wyeth

love him. Many of his paintings are scenes that i see almost every day being that he lived in the same town as i do. I still need to go on the tour to see his studio. Hopefully this spring.
