So what you are saying there Elaine is that because you have not made earrings out of the peridots, you are going to give them to me? How wonderful. That is really sweet of you I will make earrings out of them.

Re: The Greenies Room August 2012
Can't say as I like my birthstone either (Topaz) so never bothered buying one. I could go for that London Blue though Elaine. I do have a pretty sapphire ring a fire opal ring, and a garnet ring (heck, it's been so long I don't remember if it's garnet or ruby. ) I don't really wear jewelry much, so they set in the drawer. Have a fire opal necklace also brought back when my in-laws visited Australia and New Zeland many years ago. Really pretty colors in the fire opals.

Good one Carol, she'll make them into earrings now just to spite you lol.
I have to admit to liking Topaz, but the good ones are out of my price range and like you Patti I never wear jewellery, cept a gold chain and earring,,..Im a poor example of femalehood... never wear perfume, and rarely lipstick either... just never think about it. As to face and skin care.... water will do.

Re: The Greenies Room August 2012
Morning all,
Carol...LOL well ya just never know now do you..haha I like a woman that sees an opportunity and seizes it..hahaha
Meryl now you know I am not a spiteful person.. The older I get the less of a girlie girl I've become..haha was fun tho..
Patti pretty much my stuff sits in the drawer too, won't say I don't have a lot of it but mostly gifts from my dad or the things he bought my mom, he always marked a special occasion with jewelery. Larry never caught that bug..haha but there's a few from him too...haha It's just stuff really but the memories are the cool part.
Hi Katherine, Shirl, Blue, Maureen, Sharrm, all the peeps.
Time to get the day started so I will catch ya all later.
Hugs all round,
Elaine

Lipstick???? What's that??? Don't wear makeup either and you are right... water will do.
Just came in from attacking the weeds... again!!! They just don't get it... they are not growing in my flower bed. Cleaned out the garden too, time for a new start so I need to do some planning and planting soon as I get something to plant. Me thinks I need a nice tomato plant to start things off.

Re: The Greenies Room August 2012
Quickie .......
love the gems Elaine Nice blue topaz too.
C. maybe that's the drug the doc was talking about when he said there was a treatment available much more gentle than the warfarin. The only licenced one here though is the twice a day tablet - he said not enough yet was known about the one per day drug ......... but I'll know more if I have to have anything - hope I don't!
Still on the aspirin Elaine - I'd have thought that was enough!! Don't have BP probs, so only meds I'm on is a tablet for cholesterol (not statins, can't tolerate them!)
I refuse to be ill!
Dinner time - D. has made the salad so I'll go eat
Hi to all - off to Yorkshire tomorow so will check in as I can
PS - won't go out without my lipstick! Need a bit of colour somewhere on my clock!!!!

Re: The Greenies Room August 2012
Morning all,
Sounds like Carol it's going to be a long term.
Maureen hope your weather is good and your time away even better.
My mom was like you no matter what, she had to put the lipstick on..haha
It's the one thing I never think about but you are right it actually does add color to the clock...haha Like eyebrows make you look younger so they say however if I do it makes me look like a cartoon so don't think about that much either.
Actually that attitude works better then some think, I'm with you on that one!!!!
Hi to Meryl, Shirl, Katherine, Patti,Blue, and all the peeps.
Hubby just now rollin' out of bed, the bum..haha so I guess I should go see about making breakfast. I'll be back later.
Hugs all round,
Elaine

Re: The Greenies Room August 2012
Hi All, just a quick peak in before bed.... wow this month is moving fast.
I had one of thouse nights last night, you know the ones I mean, where you have a squillion rubbish thoughts rampaging in your brain... Needed to concentrate on one thing, so planned my next project...
Going to try my hand at an underwater-scape... found a couple of pics in RIL I can combine components of into one... Im really excited to start, bought the canvas today... going to use impasto (spackle) for the coral....
Also today I committed myself to becoming a "Foster Carer" with the local "Friends of the Pound"... I have been thinking about it for a while.. at work I care for people, now in my off time Ill care for dogs... sort of balances things out in my book...

Meggs, my sister-in-law did that for a long time and enjoyed it then ended up adopting one. I also have a friend that fosters greyhounds. You never know whether she will have 1 dog or 3 or more. She is very good with them and also ended up adopting a couple.
So here is how my evening went....
I was surfing the net on my notebook and watching TV at the same time when all of a sudden there was a very loud boom and super bright lightning so loud it shook the house and the sky lit up like daytime. My phone started ringing and the neighbor wanted to know if we were ok... she lost her TV, then we heard that the neighbor across the street lost his TV. The lightning bolt hit a street light, blew out the power box at the base, made a 1-foot hole in the ground and raised the phone line out of the ground. Don't know what else it might have done because some neighbors are not home but that was quite enough me thinks. Hope ya'll had a calmer evening.

Re: The Greenies Room August 2012
Morning all,
Yes Patti in comparison my night 'was' calmer, glad all that was lost were the tv's, no fires or the like, and you were all okay, hitting the street light like that wow.
Larry and I watched a strike in our woods one time and I tell ya it was quite something to see, came straight down and was fierce, couple of seconds later you heard that crackling sound of wood, big old tree split in half and landed in our back edge of the yard area...all we did was stand there with our mouths open relieved it was the tree not a house.
Weather here has just been very cool, no storms lately or high humidity, does make me expect to hear the school bus stop for the kids across the street tho..haha soon enough
Meryl I've never done that least not through an organization, have had my share (over abundance actually) of having dogs, cats come to my door and staying tho..haha It's a very loving thing for you to do kiddo.
I know those thoughts running rampart through your brain too, just wish one or two of mine would be connected to painting..haha Can't wait to see your new adventure.
Well no ligthning, no booms just quiet and rather boring haha.
Have to go find a project..haha will see ya all later then, have a good one!!
Hugs all round,
Elaine
