Re: sketch of the day

this is a quick sketch using a different tonal colour.. a simmilar scene .I have made up before
I imagine a cenotaph in a town centre.. here .I tried to avoid using any colour for the sunny sides .and a small palette .yes the shadow may be wrong .but often famous artists would do this on purpose ,,to add a little interest

Re: sketch of the day

What a wonderful thread - and wonderful paintings! Thanks from a newbie for doing this, your skill, enthusiasm, and lack of fear (...or is that just me?!) is very inspiring.

Suzanne thanks
.now you have hit the nail on the head .I have no fear at all, I never imagine each morning that I wont have a painting to do for this thread I am playing about on a piece of paper like a child,,I think every artists (and everyone is an artist)should let themselves go and have a wild paint ,I find it so interesting to see wild loose style ..if it has some form of design//(thats important,I think/// rather than a precise detailed painting .that has no ,look at me factor ,thanks for looking and do join me at trying these paintings
I used a mix of winsor and burnt umber for the water,,and the sky clouds .and in the
darkest tree

please do ask about these colousr I experiment with

They seem to just roll out Alan, lovely pictures you dream up. This is as watercolour painting should be.

Another one to enjoy I do like to know the colours used, so thanks for including them,

And how right you are are about fear of failure holding a person back

Yes I agree, and I think you are amazing, in that you are not feeling well, but still churn out these beauties!!!!! You are a treasure Alan.

Re: sketch of the day

thank you JJ it means so much .you and every one .I can always get to the kitchen table to paint .no matter .its only when the migrain starts, then I have to leave off for a while. I am here now 7.30 am having a shave (battery razor)getting ready to go the doctors,/now thats a chore?..anyway up I managed to do the run through last night,.for you newcomers .to watercolouring. I .hope you are going to try this one ,it is not hard and you will enjoy it . no tightening up ,or detail or I shall come there and let you have it ,
