Sunday, 8/12/12

Good morning everyone. We had a lovely evening. First we went to the wedding party of a friend's daughter. The ceremony was iin CA last month. They served Mediterranean food and it was fabulous. We had to eat and run because my high school reunion was going on as well. That was wonderful. We had a really good turn out. Tons o' hugging and laughing.
Today will be hanging around and then Blues @ 5p.
Enjoy. Ciao
p.s. Still have the cold and whatever the heck this is on my chin/neck.

I thought it was spider bites at first but now I'm leaning toward poison ivy.

Re: Sunday, 8/12/12

Morning all!

Ellen.....sounds like you had a jam packed Saturday Night! As far as you neck the smaller ones do look like posion ivy, but those large ones higher up I am not sure about! Keep an eye on them, and get in if they change at all!

We ended up watching Brock last evening for a short time, while Mom & Dad went out for a peaceful dinner! LOL Shawns Mom saved every pair of shoes the big guy ever wore. She gave them all to Shannon. Seeing Brockers in those white Stride Rites with the little lace keepers with bells on brings this Grammie to tears! It's crazy what little things bring back such wonderful memories!

I am setting here with my first cup of coffee, hubby is out walking the dogs for the first time since Kylee's surgery! I don't want to use the back to "N" word, but we are close!

Two weeks from now my boy will be headed back to the USA for two weeks R&R. That will be a big relief! Then back to deployment for a very short time and back here to pass out Halloween Candy!

Have a relaxing Sunday everyone!
Dilly

Re: Sunday, 8/12/12

Morning everyone...

Ellen...So glad you had a great time. I love the photos on your FB page!

Dilly...Halloween is just around the corner!!!

The guys had a great time on Lake Ontario yesterday. Ken said it was the best money he'd spent in a long time....and we're penny-pinchers so that says a LOT!

I have King Salmon, Brown Trout & Rainbow Trout in the freezer and a very tired hubbie! My nephew & his wife are visiting us for the afternoon, but I think it'll be pretty low-key. I'm sure Ken would love a nap, but we'll enjoy Andy & Colie even without one. We'll take their company ANY day!

Have a great day everyone...janie

OMG!! Those are gorgeous fish. I'm sure they'll be even more beautiful properly seasoned and grilled! Good job Josh and Ken!

Duane...I just wish I liked fish! They'll end up grilled, but I'll be eating chicken instead!

Re: Sunday, 8/12/12

Janie......looks great! We all did that for Todd's 17th Birthday, and it was such a wonderful time! I donated a lot of the fish back then. But now I would eat every bit of it!

Leslie.....ooooooh! Fishes and marbles flying down the road! I hope the wind calms down and your show finishes up in great style!

Duane.....smoked is good too! Hope you are having a great day!

Went to have breakfast and the power was out in that area, so went someplace else! UCK I guess if that happens again I will just come home and cook! LOL

So hubby and I will be daydreaming the rest of the day! We are trying to figure out how we want to live the rest of our lives. We are working on fine tuning the plans for the next 25 years. We would like to be a little more self sufficient, smaller house, smaller dogs, lots more time not working! I think that's called retirement! LOL But when you are self employed it takes a little bit more to accomplish!

Have a good one!

Re: Sunday, 8/12/12

Dill - Peter and I are in the same place. We keep saying "if we have approximately 20 years left do we want to stay in this house? Do we want to turn the computer room into a bedroom on the first floor? Do we want to move to Kalamazoo or Holland and live in a condo?"
I didn't think this time in our lives would be so full of questions.

Re: Sunday, 8/12/12

Ellen....yah questions. But we are calling it setting goals and adventures! I don't plan on sitting around and watching the flat screen for the next 25 years. It's just getting things set up so I can enjoy them 20 years from now. Plus I am sick and tired of horrendous utility bills, property taxes and tooooo much crap hanging around. Time to dispense, dispose and dump! LOL

I made an augratin cauliflower meal for lunch. YUMMY more meatless meals in our future!
