I used the panorama feature on PS8 for this. The mural actually makes sense in the photo, IRL it is about 30 feet wide and maybe 5 feet high.

Hello all. Looks like a slow day here at the pub.

Greg, the hat shop shot is cool. The panorama shot I really can't make out.

Just got in from my second pass of the calvary cemetery. Battery is completely drained and charging right now. Cant wait to see what i got. I don't really care anyway - the act of shooting alone was bliss.

Not sure if I already mentioned it but Joni Mitchell is my favorite artist EVER!

Yes, it appears that everyone is busy. But that is okay for a Monday. it is a good way to start off the week be being productive.

Our guests are leaving tomorrow for home and we might be going home as well. The motor on our pontoon boat broke and the replacement part will not be in until Thursday. We'll definitely be home on Thursday, we have tickets to see the NY. Yankees play baseball at Tiger stadium. So, we'll be going home and then probably coming back up shortly after that.

I got some photos of some farms this morning as we drove around showing our guests the points of interest in the area. I have not uploaded them as yet, so if I get a chance, you'll see them later today or tomorrow.

We finally got a break from the hot weather and had to use heavy blankets last night to keep warm. It felt so good.

Greg, thanks for starting the thread today. Interesting shots from you trip. Those hats are awesome and the photo is well composed.

Coming up for air from the sea of boxes ....

Was in the process of making a good-sized potato salad last night - and no big bowl to make it in! My bowls are in a box

Was boiling up the spuds for the salad and my bigger pots are in a box

Was gonna dead-head the roses and poppies last night, too, but my snippers are in a box

Have a bill to pay but I don't know how much it is because it, too, is in a box

Good thing my cameras and shooting stuff are NOT in a box! LOL Gotta look after the important stuff - right?

Love those wooden hats! Someone is brilliant!

Sue - I like the photos as they are ... Hat shop is quite nice ... I will post two pics, one very minimalistic - stair and welcome mat ... a bit of a study that to me turned out well. The second is an older photo which I used the perspective to reinterpret the statue - shot in downtown Manhattan's Civic Center ( despite some nice architecture, one of the deadest spots in NYC)

Ama- one of the things I also like to do is look at a scene and see a composition.

All the angles, shadows, textures feel like an abstract artwork to me. The colors would work also for an oil painting. Nice job.

The second doesn't feel right to me. not sure why.

I like what ama is looking for.. He doesn't always get it but it is fun watching him seeking.

Greg - I find your assessment spot on. The first I do like very much for the abstractness of it. And yeah the second misses -- too little statue is shown and too much cement in the foreground

Ironbark - Thanks for the compliment. I think it is important to make some interesting mistakes rather than always getting it right or blindly thinking everything you do is great ... that is why I like this place, so little attitude and much openness to learn. Plus I enjoy the range of work - from aiming for "art", a "statement", or just a well-done photo, to simply sharing a snapshot of one's life or interests at the moment.
