I just tried to purchase the sky class using said discount and it tells me that the discount is not valid, even though it is printed 4 lines above my check out page.

Jo, if they are giving you a difficult time regarding sales please point out (or allow me to) that their @$$#@@ website is a mess and doesn't do what they say it should!

I've sent a letter to customer service regarding this issues and will let you all know if and when I find out anything.

You are absolutely right; this is just my opinion; I have no idea what is going on at North Light (and I am not really sure whether Johannes does either--but if he does, he probably will not post it here!). Here is what I do know: last week I downloaded the grass and snow course; lesson 3 homework is an exact duplicate of lesson 2 homework. I posted it here, and I sent a message to customer service at North Light at the same time. Johannes posted that he had screwed up and mislabeled a video and that it would be fixed by today; that happened within 24 hours; my conclusion: Johannes gives good customer service and cares about his art students and his courses. I have still not heard back from NL customer service almost a week later; my conclusion about NL customer service and their new website should be obvious enough that all of you can analyze what I have told you and I will not have to influence you with my opinion this time. I also called customer service today because it wouldn't grant me the discount they advertise. She was suppose to get back to me so I could make the purchase of the sky class and get the discount. Did I hear back? No

Jo does awesome with everything, the problem is at NorthLight...not a good way for them to stay in business if you ask me.

I immediately submitted the correction to Northlight. On Monday morning they had the download link to the correction. Lesson 3 homework review was not included in the the grass and snow course. I will see with NL if they corrected this.

i contacted (by email) their customer service, sarah allspaw and chris buscio early JUNE.
just one (incorrect) reply.
when they eventually resolved the issue i found out myself, by checking - i was in no way notified.
also several queries regarding other issues were NEVER answered.

johannes is great and conscientious.
nl is awful.

the sad and worrying thing is that if nl fails we will lose johannes's courses and wetcanvas.

I would think the Northlight company as a whole would be in good shape, being the predominant publisher of art, hobby, and craft books. They really need to work on the download dept. however. Their failings must be hurting their sales. I, for one, no longer purchase a product as soon as it comes out for the reason that it, too often, is full of bugs that need working out first. They also need to make sure their advertized discounts actually work on all the products for which it should apply. Pissing off customers is not how to build a customer base. Kathy

I just want to say that NL must be reading these posts because I rec'd two different emails today informing me that they fixed the coupon issue.

I have successfully purchased the Sky class and am in process of downloading.

Yes, we need to support Johannes. I do so by purchasing the classes and, of course, paying and participating the the paint-along sessions. North Light is our vehicle for receiving the downloads, so other than making Johannes aware of issues, it is really a North Light problem.

Johannes - You indicated North Light needed time to advertise our next paint-along session. To date, no advertisement and no link. I am sure you are on top of this; I just want to sign up soonest - on my calendar!
