Maybe Today

I've titled this "Maybe Today." This is a self portrait and the first painting done after a long, dry, period. The painting kind of evolved as I worked on it. The hand on the glass, and rain on the window was supposed to add interest instead of just a SP. I had never done rain on window before so it is sort of experimental. Did not turn out as well as I would've like it to. The title says that I am watching and waiting - maybe He'll return today.

I like your self portrait a lot. It is very symbolic and reminds me verses from Ezekiel 34:26
"26 I will make them and the places surrounding my hill a blessing. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing."

Thank you Asarkis. I love your Bible scripture reference. This piece was inspired through a Bible study I did on Spiritual Warfare in which the facilitator in reference to Christ's return challenged us to think each day as ..."Maybe Today."

I know exactly the feeling you're speaking of...about where I am now. God willing, I will be able to be of more service to Him.

Until I read you explanation of the idea o fthe painting, I was thinking it implied "Maybe today, I will do something that pleases him", or find some way to please him.

But I guess your interpretation is ok to. Like it, I do.

Paul...after attending a "Spiritual Warfare" Bible class at my church this theme kept ringing through my head that I wanted to do something which said for me that I must be ready whenever He does return, so that's how this piece came about. Thank you for your C&C.
