Low country summer

Painted this today from memory of a trip to Drayton Hall, near Charleston SC. Oil on 11x14 panel. C&C welcome.

Re: Low country summer

Hi Bill, what a wonderful scene near Charleston, S.C., lovely colors. Visited S.C. recently and loved all the different greens but never knew that the soil was so red like clay. Lil

Nice work Bill. I like your use of warm colours.

Thanks, Jayde. There were hardly any shadows--the land was so flat.

Re: Low country summer

Great depiction of light and shadow on the ground. All the elements in this painting harmonize well with one another. I also like your choice of colors. Pretty!

Re: Low country summer

Hi Bill,
Good use of the fulcrum-type composition...works everytime. Nice color and low horizon/big sky works well here.
