Re: Rubber band perspective
I'm not Yorky, but thought I would mention that Rod Webb demonstrates this technique here - I am on my kindle so I can't insert a link, but if you go to the Handbook section and look for the part called Watetcolor Articles, his post is in there. You will have to scroll down the page a bit to find it.

Re: Rubber band perspective
That is completely brilliant. To think of all the times I've been trying not to bump this end of the ruler while keeping the other end against a peg on the table...

Re: Rubber band perspective
Thanks for the link. This is the first time I have seen the rubber band technique - magic! I was aware of, and use, the Angle Transfer Tool.
I use a folding carpenters boxwood rule which, when folded fits into a pencil case.
Cheers

Re: Rubber band perspective
You can use it for when buildings are below and above eye level, like looking down a street
And you can use two 30 cm / 6 inch metal rulers and for the angle finder

Re: Rubber band perspective
I have read in something about oil painting that instead of pencilling in the squares for a grid transfer method to get some fishing line and attach it to elastic....I thought why bother just use hat elastic. I figure that if hat elastic was tied to fit around your standard support size then you could use that and adjust up or down for the eye level - a few extras and you could grid as well
