what are you top three favorite places to sell art?

In addition to some of the venues that others have listed, I've benefited from group shows with artists who paint in the same medium. Each artist pulls from their own mailing lists, and these visitors are all interested in the common medium (ie watercolor), so it's a great way to reach new, targeted clientele.

Could I ask what medium you use? In the past I've been told that photos were what really sells at FineArtAmerica. Of course that was probably 2 years ago.

Have a peek at my standalone site at art166.com -- my portfolio includes photographs, photo-manipulations and digital work, including fractals. In the nine months I've been at FAA, I've sold all but fractals -- though I've seen many of those sell, too.

Overall, I'd say POD sites have progressed beyond the days when digital art didn't sell as well as 'straight' photography or traditional art (paintings, drawings, etc.). That's been my experience, anyway.

These days, there's room -- and buyers -- for us all. Thank goodness!

I think you can sell art on the internet via website and second one is you can advertising threw banner. Third one is direct sale. These are good way to sell your art.

I like the sales at shows because you can meet the customer and see to their needs personally. Every sale, whether over the internet or at a show, has to be treated as your most important sale.

Before the recession hit us hard in 2008, art was easy to sell to the general public at festivals and arts/craft shows. Now I look for juried art shows and juried handmade shows to sell in. The internet evolves so fast that it is a continuous job keeping up with where the better places to sell art is. Going back to ebay to use the 50 free listings.

I also agree with you most of the print makers give preference to use the inkjet prints rather that the color prints.
