Doyou need them at all? Cover them with your hand. If anything, I would remove them, keep the same background colours and make some of those background marks horizontal, to counteract all the angles and curves going on, and then call it done.

Wonderful and loose, very painterly, and I love it! I agree about those "spool shapes" on the left, not needed IMHO. This is a very strong painting, beautifully done!
