Late Noon Iris

8" x 10" oil on hardboard.

Squeezed in another 30 minute plein air - I wanted to capture the iris before they wilted. I think the background shade could use a little quieting. Fast & Loose!

Love the color on the iris. It captures an iris perfectly.

Thumbs up Re: Late Noon Iris

That first one is just a total knock out - I keep coming back for another look and each time I do it looks better than it did before. If I had any money I'd pay serious coin for that...

Re: Late Noon Iris

Hi USMCMAN

Wow, you made my day!! Thank you so much

We artists need a boost now and again, and you certainly delivered!!

I am having fun with these quick paintings. I work full time in a stressful career so when I can take some time out to paint, it lifts my stress level and makes me happy!

Thanks again!

You read my mind--my irises are scheduled to be painted later today, LOL! It's finally stopped raining so I can get out there. I hope I do mine half the justice you did yours! thanks for the inspiration.

Re: Late Noon Iris

Thank you Backspin!

Go out there and paint those Iris - as you know, they don't stick around for long so strike while the iron's hot! Can't wait to see yours!

Next I'm hoping to tackle the Robin in her nest on my back patio. Ah Spring- it offers so many subjects!
