Most of the people who post here are probably healthier than you and able to handle the added stress a little better and do not understand your condition. I know that Jo has been working overtime on all this and wants to make it easier for all of us. I hope that the ability to download improves; like you said you should be able to just click and not worry about it. I truly believe that art should be relaxing and not productive of stress, and I think you are doing the right thing in just shifting your focus until things improve. Stu

Apology accepted. Everything you say here rings true. Because it's such a rare condition, Fibromyalgia is not something many have the first clue about. To that end, for those interested, here is a brief description of the condition: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/fibromyalgia/DS00079
"Fibromyalgia is a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues. Researchers believe that fibromyalgia amplifies painful sensations by affecting the way your brain processes pain signals."
Walk a mile in my shoes-as the saying goes.
Thanks again, Stu-see you at Rich Robinson's site-my new focus!

Let's see how I got IVOR out of IMPROV.... Start with the first letter, "I" , add the last letter, "V", go backwards from V, which is ORPM and leave out the PM and there you've got it 'IVOR"! AH, the mind, it works in such strange ways.

Kathy, I can honestly say, without fear of correction that you are VERY Anagramatic!

Re: Live Paint Along Classes Discussion Thread
Thank you for the explicit directions.... worked perfectly, first try (using Chrome). The 1st part took one hour, the 2nd, 25 minutes out here in the boonies, paying for 6Mbps.... "sometimes" I actually get it.

when i needed help you were one who was quite unkind and dismissive if you recall, because for YOU it was all working fine.
i on the other hand DID try to help you and others with this problem.
your tone seemed very ungrateful. we all have things to deal with in our lives - don't imagine you are unique in this way.
you're adding me to your IGNORE LIST?? oh wow!!! i'm devastated! NOT.

Thanks to Jo's good instructions, i was able to download all paint along classes, even if I struggled a bit at the beginning. Thank you again Johannes for these great lessons, your patience with technical problems and the complaints of your far away students ...... You are the BEST !

Wetpaint, I really like your painting. The pine tree on the left is really impressive in that it adds to the painting without drawing the eye. My eye goes to the water and follows that path. The texture is very nice also.

Re: Live Paint Along Classes Discussion Thread
Just adding my gratitude to Johannes for doing this whole thing, and really also for making it supremely easy and straightforward to download. I'm one of those in the camp that says if you follow his step-by-step directions, it's smooth and easy. At first I didn't know why you have to open ustream first and log-in, then don't do anything else with ustream. I should say, I STILL don't know why you have to do that, but that's what works.
To play the downloads, I first open the VLC app, then drag the two downloaded videos to the VLC window. That is a great app, and thanks to Johannes for directing us to that as well. (BTW, I use a Mac; I did the download using Safari.)

Re: Live Paint Along Classes Discussion Thread
I have to be away this weekend so will miss both the Saturday webinar and the Sunday Paint Along. I'd so rather be here and attending Johannes's painting sessions.
I've worked each day on last Sunday's painting, going back again & again to parts of the videos when I was struggling (and wiping back areas that were just not working - trees!).
I must say I feel I've had a major breakthrough in understanding the relationship of paint and when to add a bit of solvent - I wonder just how many times through the various sessions I missed Joe's comment about adding solvent when painting in the tree branches - no wonder I could never achieve good results - I was always applying full paint! Talk about a 'light bulb' moment!
And.....(drum roll here)....I actually find myself with Joe's voice in my head - asking all those pertinent questions - The lessons are truly sinking in!
Hopefully I'll finish it up this evening & I'll try to post my painting before I leave tomorrow.
Thanks Johannes! This really is the best & I like everyone else is very appreciative!

Re: Live Paint Along Classes Discussion Thread
I missed the May 20th live paint along, but had no problems downloading the videos, and the photo of Jo's completed painting. Was there a reference photo for this? I have read all the posts but have not seen any. If there is a photo, where can I get a copy. Thank you.
