Thanks Debby, the bird is supposed to be a dove (peace...) the barbed wire (war)!

I got the idea for these two from photos in a photography book.

I love the carver's bench. You caught lots of light and form with just simple, monochrome washes. Really lovely.

Glad you like the carver's bench, it was really fun to do!

Here's more from that sketch book to get me caught up!

This sketch was part of picture of "fresh ingredients" in a cookbook my wife has......I think they're a type of raddish.



This is a sketch of a swallow tail kite. It's a kind of falcon that's more common down in the everglades, but we see them around here semi-regularly.

Very nice sketches since I last checked on the thread. Being into birds, I love the kite. There is a species of kite in the Everglades that feeds exclusively on snails - for obvious reasons it's kind of tenuous in its population and long term future. We have only one species of kite in my neck of the woods, and it's very rare.
