I have been a starting member of the 'Cement as a sculpture medium' for 10+ yrs so I know how wonderful WetCanvas people are! I just bought a kiln from an estate sale last week-end for $25.00! I couldn't pass it up! It was owned by a ceramic teacher of many years, who had passed away. The son told me, "It worked like a charm last time she used it." They also sold me all the bisque and molds I wanted for $10.00. I then went home and read for 3 days on firing, glazing, pit fireing, Raku, on and on. I have sooo much to learn! I'm 58 yrs old, so I may never know as much as any of you, but I'm anxious to get started!
My question now is: The kiln is so old that I can't find a manual on it. It was made in Dallas, TX. in the late 1950's- 60's.
So it doesn't have a temp. adjustment. You just plug the top half into a 110 plug,,and the bottom halfe into an other 110 plug, and then un-plug them.
My Question:Have any of you worked with this type kiln, and can give me some instruction on what cone it will get to, or how I can get a manual on it? 
The internet dosen't have much on it. The manufacturer only has a smaller on listed.
